CDC is currently developing Arabic language training
in the area of strategic communication with the
media with the American University in Beirut
(Lebanon). The first pilot course is scheduled
to be given in the spring of 2002 in Beirut on

Management Systems International
CDC works closely with Management Systems International
as a partner to provide services to field Missions,
Regional Bureaus and other USAID/Washington offices,
as well as direct technical assistance and/or
advisory services and assistance to host country
institutions (both governmental and non-governmental).
Services are available in four major areas: Institutional
Capacity Building, Sectoral Support, Conferencing/Networking,

Planete Jeunes
Since 1994, Bayard Presse, a international leader
in the field of children's publications, has
published Planete Jeunes magazine, which is now
read by more than 800,000 young people in more
than 15 countries. CDC is helping Planete to
develop strategic partnerships in the social
sector with development agencies. Planete is
a good example of enter education, providing
future leaders of Africa with a variety of information
as well as life skills. PJ recently published
a study of how African Youth see the future at
the dawn of a new millennium. The study was published
in the xx issue of Planete Jeunes. For more information

United Nations Staff College
The United Nations Staff College was established
in January 1996 as a UN system-wide learning
and training project. In its initial "project" phase – which
runs to December 2000 – the Staff College’s
main objectives are to:
- Facilitate and support the process of reform and change
of the United Nations and its system of organizations
- Develop innovative learning and training opportunities.
- Promote a common management culture
- Promote more effective collaboration and linkages
across the UN system in pursuit of peace and development
CDC works closely with UNSCP to provide experiential problem
based training in the field of communication for senior UN
officials as part of the reform process of the United Nations
System. UN Staff College Project staff participated in the
International Executive Media and Television Workshop in
Amman, Jordan in December 1999. For more information about
